The Goldcoast has always been a favourite holiday destination for any and all that love beautiful beaches and laid-back city living. It is rich full of culture and close to many stunning natural siteseeing opportunities. The main one of course being the Hemsworths located a meer hour away by car in Byron Bay.

Flights

Flights to the Gold coast from Melbourne range anywhere from $60 to almost $300, typically the cheapest Australian flights will be through Jetstar or Virgin Australia. The best sight for finding cheap flight would be Webjet, which will also display the cheapest months for you destination, making it easier to plan a cost-effective holiday.

Where to stay

The first option gives off real rich bitch vibes which is a mood and a half. This Daddy Warbuck’s esque mansion, is surprisingly cheap to rent with a week, in non-school holiday times totalling at $3,400. So with a group of ten your looking at only $340 each. The house also has a large outdoor swimming pool and full sized pool tabel to accomodate all those hot bitch summer vibes.

Another similarly priced option is the Terragonda on Currumbin Hill holiday house, which is situated in a more outback sort of location, it beautifully sculpted into the bushland around it. This one doesn’t have a pool as the one before it did, but it does feature unparalleled views of the ocean and nature surrounds. It comes in at about $3100.00 for the week

Things to do at the Goldcoast

  • Go to Dracula’s cabaret show: looks as though it will have a similar mood to jesus christ vampire hunter the movie but make it seggsy. Prices are quite steep with the cheapest tickets seemingly coming in at about $90. For $115 get the VIP tickets that will also include a three course meal.
  • Padlockd escape rooms: a series of themed escape rooms ideal for 2-6 people, and offering 1-2 hours worth of fun or a lifetime of trauma, if these sorts of things cause you great levels of stress, whilst all of your friends are the kinds that watch, true-story horror films for a good time. Tickets are $45 per person and there are 6 different escape room games to choose from.
  • Play golf: May seem like an odd inclusion, but hear me out, you all dress up as rich old men pretend you know how to golf but really just spend the day attempting to get the ball somewhere near the hole and driving around in golf carts. Finding a golf couse that will allow you to play may however be difficult unless the old man look is really sold.
  • Ice skating: a day spent blasting frozen songs while falling over on ice sounds like a good day to me. Not to mention that for a student pass it’s only $20 or $25 for an adult. I assume this includes the rental of skates though I cannot see this n their page.
  • Visit Purling brook falls: located just 46mins away from the gold coast this incredible waterfall, will be well worth the drive. Make sure to wear your bathers as it’s completely free to swi there and open all year round.
  • Mini Golf: big normal golf in old man costumes not your vibe, thats cool theres also mini golf with optional costumes. This mini golf at Mermaid beach features a series of differnt courses, including a safari and water hazeads course. They also have twilight sessions for a fun night time alternative for drinking when you don’t feel like being harrassed by random men. This costs only $19 per person if booked online in advance with their 10% discount. Disclaimer: mini golf sucks if anyone in your group actually wants to take it seriously and calls you out on your cheating leave them behind.
  • Sea kyaking and dolphon tour: spent half a day out in the water trying to entice a shark to eat you for that spicy gravestone, engraving. This tour offers comes complete with the kyaking and snokelling equipment as well as breakfast and a fully trained and skilled tour guide. It only costs $85 per person and offers chances to spot animals including dolphins, turtles and sting rays.
  • Jet boating: Go for a mad as hoon along the main beach in a jet boat for as little as $63.00 with current sales and promotions The trip will last for 55minutes full of high speed and a series of water tricks as well as sight-seeing. If you have any issues with rollarcoasters potentially this could not be the one for you.
  • Parasailing: See the goldcoast in absolute best way attached to a large parachute thats hitched to the back of a boat. Although the flight time is only 8 minutes per person the experience takes upwards of an hour, and offers views of the city from 100meters in the air. This costs $80 per person and the parasailing can be done solo, tandem or triple.
  • The Ultimate Gold Coast Attractions Pass: get access to over 30 famous and popular attractions, tours and lessons for a sinlge price of $133.00 per person. This pass lasts 90 days once activated and includes things usch as kyaking tours, surf lessons, ice-skating, jetboating and many more.
