Game development … a process week 2

To start off the new week I needed to learn how to draw. Afterall if I wanted to create a game with any form of appeal it has to look good. So with high hopes and unrealsitically high expectations I opened up my computer found a pixel art creating website (Pixelart) and got to work on what I was sure would be a masterpiece … spoiler alert, I was wrong and cannot do pixel art it apparently is not as easy as i seems. Below are the beginnings of my jouney a rather embarrassing and dissapointing start that will hopefully however, lead to something that will look half decent.

After a bit of trial and error I realised much of my issues with pixel art was trying to treat it to much like traditional art, with shading and eprfect gradients, as opposed to the harsh colour blocks that are typical in pixal art. Overall I spent about 2 hours learning pixal art today and see a great improvement, hopefully will strat being able to work towards actual game designs soon.

This was a short week hopefully I will be able to pick up my progress and pace a bit now that I have finished with my summer semester exam week :).
